GUNMEN broke into the residence of Guinea- Bissau’s ruling party spokesman and took off with about three million euros ($3.3m) in cash, Radio France Internationale reported on Tuesday, citing police sources it didn’t identify.
The incident occurred late Sunday while Joao Bernardo Vieira II, who also serves as secretary of state for transportation, was absent, according to the Paris-based broadcaster.
The spokesman of the ruling African Party for the Independence of Guinea and Cape Verde, Vieira is a nephew of former President Joao Bernardo Vieira, who was assassinated in 2009.
